The friction wheel travel drive consists of a traction trolley, a balancer and a travel drive.
1. The friction wheel travel drive is a drive developed especially for cranes with loads up to 3000 kg, inclination up to 1%, with adjustable acceleration and braking requirements.
2. The output of the motor is transmitted to the lower rail flange by means of a friction wheel. The friction wheel is pressed against the lower rail flange by means of a pressure spring.
3. A constant field DC worm gear motor is used as the drive motor.
4. The speed of the DC motor can be well controlled to ensure that the drive accelerates and brakes. This reduces the amplitude of oscillations during operation.
5. The worm gear motors are designed to be self-braking, which makes the support brakes superfluous.
